Health & Safety Compliance System
As part of its innovative approach to insurance services, Gable insurance provides its customers with a unique health and safety compliance system. The system is accessed via the web and is supported by specialist health and safety advisors – either over the phone or during face-to-face meetings. The system is straightforward to use and provides online training as well as supporting the completion of mandatory risk assessment records. The system has been specifically designed to help managers within smaller businesses by offering practical, easy to follow support.
Access to the system is free of charge for any organisation insured via Gable and will assist in the increasingly onerous task of complying with health and safety legislation. The system is accredited by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) - the only such system accredited. As part of this approval any business who utilizes the system can receive RoSPA certification to demonstrate their level of health and safety performance.
This is an extremely valuable resource that can save considerable sums of money for Gable customers – both in management time spent dealing with this complex subject as well as fees with external consultants who are often used to help in this area, and, of course, avoidance of potential fines and claims.
How the system operates
A key element of the system is the provision of online video training programmes that provide step-by-step guidance. This is a very user-friendly way of dealing with mandatory health and safety requirements.
Managers can logon and rapidly learn what they need to know on an ‘as and when needed’ basis. It demonstrates how to undertake risk assessments and what needs to be done to achieve compliance. Each Gable customer has their own password protected account where mandatory records can be completed and stored. A company-wide RoSPA certificate is then available to those who complete necessary training and records. The system also sends E-mail alerts to help with ongoing checks and other actions.
The scheme provides mandatory training for frontline staff in a wide range of subjects. Employees watch easy to follow video programmes which are automatically recorded and trainees take an online test to provide mandatory training records. Trainees can print off certificates of successful completion which are accredited by RoSPA
The web system is supported by a telephone service where managers can dial-in to regular training seminars to learn how to set-up, use and run the system. This is a rapid and convenient way to manage health and safety. There are also short, half-day, training seminars held around the UK that provide additional support where it is required.
